/ world today news/ The issue has been resolved – the resignation of Temenuzka Petkova will not be accepted. This has been decided since the meeting where most of the ministers were today. Our opinion – of “United Patriots” is that there is no reason to look for a scapegoat, and a victim who has no fault.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Krasimir Karakachanov said this to BTV.
“We will not support the resignation of Temenuzka Petkova, and I think we have resolved this issue today – today we had a meeting with Prime Minister Boyko Borisov. Petkova is not at fault. The Energy Act does not mandate that the Minister of Energy, or KEVR, control these things. Temenuzka Petkova remains the Minister of Energy – this is today’s decision”, summarized Karakachanov.
“KEVR can revoke a license, but it cannot stop a transaction or verify a transaction. And the revocation of the license is only after the fact”, he pointed out on the issue of the sale of CEZ.
“The most reasonable option is for the state to buy 34% of the company and pay this money later from the dividend it is entitled to – so that the state is not burdened with additional costs, but still has a controlling stake (…)
“I personally have always thought that the state did not need to sell these ERPs, in many places in Europe they are state-owned – for example, in France they are given to a concession. There are two options – either buying a controlling stake or urgent legislative changes, according to which these and other transactions will be controlled by the state. Without going into “scenarios”, but if someone decides to pay 320 million euros and then commit sabotage, it will be the easiest war to win”, said the Deputy Prime Minister.
