Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev has released the director of the Automotive Administration Agency, Borislav Muerov. This became clear during the parliamentary control today. The Ministry of Transport specified for NOVA that the head of the DAI will officially leave his post on Monday.
The reason is the difficulties with the annual technical inspections of cars. Since the introduction of the new system there have been claims that there is a problem with the exhaust gas requirements and for this reason many of the passenger cars, including newer models from recent years, cannot pass the tests. At the same time, owners of cars 10-20 years old with diesel engines pass the tests without any problems.
MP Angel Slavchev from “Vazrazhdane” asked the Prime Minister when a working group will be formed to change the regulation. In response, Glavchev stated that he had signed the order for Muerov’s release and that a working group was about to be created.
Borislav Muerov is a long-time employee of the Ministry of the Interior. Before heading the Automobile Administration, he held various managerial positions, including chief of the police in Stara Zagora.
