This year, the 3rd Essen Street Art Festival will once again transform the streets of the city center into a colorful stage full of extraordinary performances. From acrobatics to comedy to music and artistry, renowned artists from four continents will offer a varied program on the seven different performance areas that will amaze the audience. To kick off the festival, everyone is cordially invited to take part in the parade with all the artists on Saturday, August 17th, at around 12:15 p.m. The meeting point is at Kopstadtplatz.
A special feature of the festival is the opportunity to show the artists appreciation for their performances by visitors donating hat money. Coins and notes can be exchanged at a change point at the information tent opposite the Marktkirche. To round off the sensual experience, there will also be a diverse culinary offering. Food trucks and snack stands on Kennedyplatz and at the Marktkirche will offer delicious delicacies to take away alongside local restaurants so that no show has to be missed. There is a support tent right next to it. The support team provides retreat rooms, supports people with disabilities and those who experience discrimination, and creates safer spaces to promote wellbeing at the festival.
