/ world today news/ Ukraine may be deprived of the opportunity to hold the “Eurovision – 2017” contest due to problems with the organization, TSN reported, quoting the acting director of the National Radio and Television Council (NTRC) of Ukraine, Alexander Kharebin, transmits RIA Novosti on Sunday (November 27).
At the beginning of October, the European Union for Radio and Television, as the owner of the “Eurovision” brand, showed NTRK a “red card” for failing to prepare for the contest, Harebin said.
Among the reasons for the decision, he pointed out “bureaucracy, problems with legislation and the disdainful attitude of some officials towards the competition”.
At the same time, Kharebin noted that Ukraine is currently catching up on the schedule delay and in October melted the backlog from three to one month. But the final decision on whether to hold the competition in Kyiv will be taken at the meeting of the European Broadcasting Union on December 8.
Ukraine won the right to host the Eurovision Song Contest after singer Jamala won the contest in Stockholm on May 14.
