Chateauroux (from our reporter) – The native of Pilsen picked up a small loss immediately in the kneeling position. She scored 97 and 98 points and was in the second ten of the ranking. “It didn’t fit me at all, I was struggling right from the start when I was kneeling. Then it was a struggle,” Blažíčková described for Sport.cz.
She improved significantly after the first series of layups, when she scored a full 100 points, which she followed up with 98 points, in addition to hitting a large number of clean middle tens, which are decisive in the event of a tie.
At that moment, she lacked a single point to advance. But right at the beginning of the last standing position, there was a big hitch, similar to Jiří Přívratský’s in the morning final.
Blažíčková’s first shot flew into the eight, she added four more nines in the first series, and the gain of 94 points condemned her to the twentieth position with no hope of advancement. And the final 97 points didn’t change anything. “I expected that the stand would not fit me very well. It’s warm here and I have old clothes. But I don’t want to make excuses for that,” she said.
In her Olympic debut, Blažíčková did not make it to the finals in any of the three competitions. In the air rifle, she took 34th place, in the mix with Přívratský, she finished in 24th position. “I am happy for this experience, I hope I will use it. It will certainly help me in the future, for example when it comes to working with nervousness,” added the talented shooter.
