INAC registers more than six thousand cases of avoiding the father – Jornal OPaís

Six thousand and 699 cases of father avoidance were registered in the first half of this year by the National Institute of Children (INAC), representing a decrease of 4,687 cases compared to the same period before, said the general director of the institution, Paulo , to ANGOP. .

This data comes from the 15,088 (27,282 in 2023) cases of violence against children registered in Angola through the SOS-Criança reporting service, which victimized 7,668 boys and 7,420 girls .

The other forms of violence, according to Paulo Kalesi, were child labor exploitation (1,207), psychological violence (688), sexual violence (564) and neglect (482).

The provinces with the highest number of cases were Luanda (3,472 cases), Benguela (2,331), Bié (2,309), Huambo (1,229) and Zaire with 821. He also reported that the main characters in the military affairs, the police, teachers and taxi drivers, without giving numbers however, asking society to be more informed about the rights of children, with a view to their protection.

Paulo Kalesi explained that they have invested in publishing the page, the children’s portal and the children’s helpline numbers so that any child or family member can benefit from the psychological services that exist in all areas of social activity.
