Sex-wise heroine – hero is old-fashioned; Characters enough for the movie: Manju Warrier
Manju Warrier says that it is outdated to say that the heroine and hero are based on gender in the film. Manju says that his character and content are important in a film and it doesn’t matter whether the protagonist is male, female or a third gender. The actor said that the film and the tastes and thoughts of the audience are growing in that way.
In an interview with the Indian Cinema Gallery, Manju responded when asked about Malayalam cinema, where heroines go down. The actor says that the film has enough characters for him. Manju Warrier said that he thinks this is a topic that should have been discussed a long time ago.
‘In a film, only the characters needed for that film are enough. But to me, it’s outdated to say that heroine and hero are based on gender. That’s what I believe. In a film, its character and its content are important. It doesn’t matter if you are male, female or third gender.
To that same extent, the cinema and the tastes and thoughts of our audience who watch it are growing. I believe that these are issues that should have been discussed a long time ago. If a new film comes out, if it is attractive, our audience will take it. It doesn’t matter who the film is based on,’ said Manju Warrier.
