Israel’s new airline, On Haifa, marking an important milestone when the first plane landed for the first time at Haifa International Airport. The plane was honored with a Selena ceremony when it first landed in Israel. On arrival, the plane was greeted by the field’s fire engines.
From now on, residents of the northern part of the country will have more convenient access to various destinations in Israel and the world, and will be able to avoid the difficult need to get to the airport long before departure to save
The new 72-seater plane will allow Air Haifa to operate regular flights from Haifa airport to Eilat and several destinations in the Mediterranean basin. In the coming months, the company is expected to receive two more aircraft of this model.
Next month, the company is expected to receive an operating license from the Civil Aviation Authority, after which it will start selling flight tickets.
Air Haifa was founded by a group of Israeli entrepreneurs, led by Nir Tzuk, founder of Palo Alto Networks, and former El Al executives, Miki Strasburger, Gonen Osishkin, and Lior Yavor. Among them, Miki Strasburger seems to have the most knowledge and experience to manage a small airline like Air Haifa. He led the Sandor company, and later was vice president of El Al.
Therefore, Air Haifa marks a new era in the local aviation industry, while creating new jobs in several areas, opening opportunities for business development, and new opportunities for the residents of the the north.
