But the excitement did not stop at that sporting detail, but went further. Adriana Ruano posed, after the ceremony of the National Anthem of Guatemala in Chateauroux, with a photograph in which she is accompanied by her father.
According to reports in some Guatemalan media, her father had passed away, so Ruano decided that he would accompany her at all times in her memory and in a graphic way at the end of the event.
Adriana Ruano’s father passed away in 2021, so he was also unable to see her at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, which were her first summer event and she finished in 26th position.
“This gold medal is also for him,” said the Guatemalan shooter after winning her gold medal at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
“I thank all of Guatemala, all of my family and my friends; I thank them for their prayers, they were felt and I thank them very much. I thank God and my dad who, from up there, is taking care of me here,” she said after the competition.
