/ world today news/ Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said that the Russian economy is expected to grow from the beginning of next year, RIA Novosti reported on Saturday (October 1).
“We assume that at the end of the year, the negative trends that have formed in our economy over the past 2-3 years will begin to wear off. Thanks to the measures that the government has taken, as well as the general recovery of the situation. And already at the beginning of next year, we will note, albeit insignificant, economic growth, more precisely GDP growth,” said Medvedev in an interview with Channel One.
“Given that other macroeconomic conditions in our country remain generally good – we have a low amount of government debt, which is very important for the country to feel comfortable, we have significant volumes of our gold and foreign exchange reserves, comparable to those of the first ten countries in the world. Inflation has come down … that is, price growth is not what it was in recent decades. And perhaps at the end of this year we will note the lowest inflation in our recent history, which makes us optimistic about further economic development,” the Prime Minister noted.
