Mexico City. A federal judge postponed the hearing of Florian Tudor, considered the leader of the so-called Romanian mafia, dedicated to human trafficking and bank card cloning on an international scale, who complained about the lack of medical care in the maximum security prison of Altiplano, in the state of Mexico, where he has been deprived of liberty since 2021, when he was arrested by personnel from the Attorney General’s Office (FGR), for crimes of organized crime, extortion and attempted aggravated homicide.
Judge Everardo Maya Arias, head of the Third District Court for Amparo and Federal Trials in the state of Mexico, postponed the constitutional hearing where he would determine whether to grant the amparo against the acts claimed. The judge indicated that the extension is because the discharge of the specialized evidence for possible cases of torture or mistreatment (Istanbul Protocol), in favor of the complainant, is pending.
The judge set the hearing for September 9, taking into consideration the vacation period designated to this jurisdictional body, which will run from August 1 to 15, 2024, in accordance with the notice of March 4 of this year.
Florian Tudor filed an appeal for protection on April 19 against the Commissioner for Prevention and Social Readaptation, where he claimed the lack of medical attention regarding his ailments consisting of sinusitis, allergic rhinitis, bloody urine, rib pain due to fracture, and in the specialties of traumatology and nephrology, according to the complainant because as a result of the blows inflicted by staff at the detention center where he is located, he has a displaced and dysfunctional kidney.
Florian Tudor, arrested in late May 2021 in Mexico City, is accused of being the leader of the so-called Romanian mafia linked to bank card cloning and international human trafficking that operated from Quintana Roo, Mexico.
