West Ham United are in negotiations with Leeds United striker Chrisencio Summerville.
Last season, the 22-year-old played for Daniel Fark’s team and scored 21 goals and 9 shots on target.
West Ham have already signed defender Max Kilman from Wolverhampton Wanderers, young Brazilian winger Luis Guillerme from Palmeiras and goalkeeper Wes Foderingham in the summer.
Leeds returned to the Premier League last summer after losing 1-0 to Southampton in the play-off final.
Summerville spent 12 years in Feyenoord’s youth system but never made an appearance for the Dutch club, who sent him on season-long loans to FC Dordrecht and ADO Den Haag.
The striker then moved to Elland Road on a permanent deal in September 2020 and has gone on to score 25 goals in 89 appearances for Leeds.
Summerville will be the club’s last major departure this summer after midfielder Archie Gray joined Tottenham Hotspur, with defender Joe Rawdon going the other way on a permanent deal. Glen Camara joined Rennes and Charlie Cresswell moved to Toulouse.
Luis Sinisterra, Mark Roca, Robin Koch, Diego Llorente, Luke Ayling and Ian Poveda, who spent last season on loan away from Leeds, have all left Elland Road permanently.

Summerville is shaping Leeds’ season, even when he shouldn’t be
Summerville was crucial to Leeds’ promotion
Summerville was instrumental in Leeds’ promotion last season and was recognised for an outstanding campaign with the EFL Championship Player of the Season award.
The Dutchman came alive, working in Farke’s system, operating down the left flank and regularly cutting inside.
He formed a fine partnership with Georginio Rutter, and the pair were as close as thieves, with Somerville bringing an exciting atmosphere to the Leeds dressing room.
Summerville’s dribbling ability and moments of quality in the team were very underrated. Last season, when Leeds were struggling, he would distribute the ball to the winger in the hope of a magic moment. He often played brilliantly with the ball.
There is still plenty of room for Summerville to grow, and there are rough edges to his game that could be improved if he wants to become a top player. But there is a reason he has attracted so much attention in this window and should command a significant price: Summerville has serious talent and potential.
