The North German crane rental and heavy transport company Gustav Seeland has its second 250-ton AT type Grove GMK5250XL-1 receive.

The five-axle crane has an eight-section 78.5-metre main boom, to which an 18-metre double folding jib can be attached, which can be extended to 34 metres with additional attachments. Features include Groves Maxbase-Support system, Megatrak suspension with four-wheel steering and Twin-Lock boom locking system. Power comes from a single HVO-ready Mercedes Stage V diesel engine, which is said to offer a 30 percent reduction in fuel consumption compared to previous power units.

The crane immediately went to work and lifted a 4.5 tonne ventilation unit onto the roof of a 27 metre high building with a 60 metre long boom and a radius of 31.5 metres.

The crane is an important aspect of the future direction of our company. Our Grove cranes have exceptional capabilities that have already enabled us to take on more demanding projects with greater efficiency. We are very much looking forward to taking on new challenges with Grove.”
