On Sunday, August 4th, the Pasewalk parish, in cooperation with the Brüssow organ association, invites you to a special concert in the church in Menkin as part of the DorfKircheKlingt concert series, which is also supported by Nordkurier. From 4 p.m., you can hear music from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance played on historical instruments.
Texts on female figures of the Middle Ages
The program includes works by French and Spanish composers, such as Guillaume de Machaut and Diego Ortiz. The Berlin musician Daniel Trumbull brings the special sounds to the audience on the organetto and harpsichord, and Gertrud Ohse plays Renaissance viols of various sizes.
Life and death are very close together in the artistically designed church of Menkin. The original Renaissance furnishings of the church tell their own stories, which are taken up in the concert program. The Pomeranian poet Sibylla Schwarz, the donor Ursula von Blanckenburg and other female figures from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance take you back in time with texts and music. The concert begins at 4 p.m. Admission is free, but donations are requested.
