Lechuga, originally from Monterrey, Nuevo León, finished fifth out of six competitors in her Quarterfinals heat, not enough to advance to the Semifinals for medals.
In order for Lechuga to survive, he needed to finish in at least the top three positions in the competition, which means he will no longer be able to win any medals.
Now, on July 31, he will compete in the C/D semi-finals that only give access to the B Final of the competition, that is, he only hopes to finish from 13th to 24th in the competition, not even earning an Olympic diploma.
Lechuga finished behind Dutchwoman Karolien Florijn, German Alexandra Föster, Belarusian Tatsiana Klimovich and Paraguayan Alejandra Alonso.
