He was ordained as a hierodeacon and hieromonk in 2008. He was elevated to the rank of archimandrite on December 6, 2009 within the Assumption Cathedral in Plovdiv by Plovdiv Metropolitan Nikolay.
From 2008 to 2010, Arseniy was a parish priest within the villages of Borets and Govedare, Plovdiv Non secular District. Since 2009, he has been the director of Plovdiv Orthodox Tv. Since 2010, he has been appointed because the non secular supervisor of the Plovdiv Diocese, and since 2012, because the chairman of the metropolitan church “St. Marina” in Plovdiv.

Melnik Bishop Gerasim was born on November 2, 1979 in Sofia with the secular title of Alexander Georgiev Georgiev.
