The collapse occurred within the space of a drilled working on the stage of 870 meters, the place 15 staff have been working. A rescue operation is at the moment underway, involving six groups of rescuers, together with: from the Central Mining Rescue Station (CSRG) in Bytom.
“The rescue operation aimed to achieve 4 staff with whom we had no contact. We managed to achieve and transport three staff. Sadly, within the case of two, the physician pronounced them useless,” mentioned Rajmund Horst Horst, Vice-President of the Polish Mining Group.
The third sufferer, who was transported to the floor aware, was taken to… hospital in Sosnowiec.
Rescuers are attempting to find the fourth miner trapped underground, with whom they don’t have any contact.
Shock within the Mysłowice-Wesoła mine
The earthquake occurred on the night time from Monday to Tuesday at round 3.30 on the stage of 870 meters. It had a magnitude of two.66 on the Richter scale. It was positioned roughly 40 meters from the face of the ancestor.
There have been fifteen miners within the endangered space. Eleven managed to withdraw, and 9 of them – in a secure, non-life-threatening situation – have been transported to hospitals in Jaworzno, Katowice, Oświęcim, Sosnowiec and Tychy.
