Arsenal is aware that not everything depends on the team’s players, but they are doing a lot to maintain their chances of winning the title for the first time in years.
In the 37th round, the Gunners’ rival was the chimerical Manchester United. The Red Devils are thinking about the FA Cup final, but in the Premier League they still had a chance to finish 6th.
From the beginning of the match, the guests had more control, but they created few chances. The hosts were looking for opportunities to launch counterattacks.
Not much happened in front of the goals. We scored our first goal in the 21st minute. Kai Havertz broke off on the right side, ran into the penalty area with the ball and passed it to Leandro Trossard. A shot at the goal from close range was a formality.
The visitors tried to follow suit. They carried out several dangerous actions, but did not finish them with strikes. The hosts woke up only in the last quarter of the first half. They were unable to get a shot on target.

After the change of sides, the Red Devils were still looking for an equalizer, but they still had problems with creating good chances. In the 61st minute, the active Alejandro Garnacho deceived the defenders, but at the decisive moment the Argentine shot over the ball.
The defensively focused Gunners only attacked in the 65th minute, when Martin Odegaard shot from about 16 meters. Andre Onana made a good save.
Arsenal did not rush to attack for a long time, the guests intended to take a modest lead until the end. Garnacho was the most dangerous in front of the visitors’ goal. However, it was the Gunners who could have closed the match when Aaron Wan-Bissaka almost scored in the 83rd minute. He defended Onan. After a while, the Cameroonian made a great intervention after Odegaard’s shot.
In the end, the hosts were not able to do much, Arsenal took the lead until the end and returned to the Premier League leadership position. The Gunners have played one match more than Manchester City.
