Rama: Draconian measures for his visit and speech in Galatsi – Buses and from Albania – 2024-05-13 15:19:17

Hundreds of police officers are being deployed by EL.AS as part of security measures for the arrival of Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama ahead of his visit to Athens today and the event that will take place at 11 am today in Galatsi.

As the Greek government has stated, this is a “private visit” where Edi Rama will make a pre-election speech to his compatriots who will attend the Galatsi Indoor Gymnasium. The event has been organized ahead of the 2025 national elections in the neighboring country.

More than 1,000 police officers are on foot (MAT, EKAM, OPKE, DIAS, Security, Traffic) with the number increasing or decreasing according to needs.

Initially, a “clear route” will be created, as typically reported by ELAS sources, from the airport to Galatsi with unimpeded passage and ground and aerial surveillance. On Saturday, the Galatsi indoor gym will be “sterilized” by trained dogs and special devices to detect explosive devices, and it will be sealed, monitored and have controlled access. Drones and helicopters will constantly monitor the area, while snipers from EKAM will be at selected points.

At the same time, the information network will be strengthened by the EYP and the anti-terrorist service, while there will also be monitoring on social media. If in the end there is a possibility of the Prime Minister of Albania staying overnight in our country, the routes and the security plan may change.

Rama: “Kyriakos is a friend I respect a lot”

“Kyriakos is the prime minister of Greece, he is a friend I respect a lot” Edi Rama said to Kathimerini on Sunday shortly before his arrival in our country.

He claimed that he is the Greek prime minister who, more than any of his predecessors with whom he has worked, is genuinely interested in strengthening Greek-Albanian relations. He also mentions that the plan for his speech in Athens does not include anything about the case of Fredis Belleris.

At the same time, according to estimates broadcast by himara.gr, from the organizational sector of Rama’s party, around 2,000 people from Albania are expected to travel for tomorrow’s speech.

According to all the officials, according to the information from the neighboring country, a specific target location has been set, so that the stadium is full.

Footage from the Krystallopigi border station was posted earlier on social media. The video in question shows buses transporting Albanian citizens from the village of Bilist to Athens.
