Traffic accident claims the lives of two Salvadoran Red Cross first responders – Diario La Página – 2024-05-13 11:08:57

Two rescuers from the Salvadoran Red Cross died in the early hours of today, in a traffic accident that occurred in front of the El Jabalí racetrack, in the department of La Libertad, agents from the National Civil Police (PNC) confirmed.

The deceased were identified as José Antonio Ramírez Navarro and César Alexander Sosa Hernández, both of whom were stationed at the Salvadoran Red Cross branch of Quezaltepeque, in the same department.

It was explained that they were riding a motorcycle and that due to excessive speed they collided with the back of a truck, causing them to die immediately.

The accident occurred at approximately 3:13 in the morning today in the direction that the Claudia Lars roundabout leads to Quezaltepeque. A unit from the Rescue Commands and another from the Medical Emergency System (SEM) came to help the victims, but it was determined that both died immediately.
