The public prosecutor believes that Jan Helge Andersen raped and killed the two girls alone in Baneheia. Today they present new results of DNA Andersen on Lene Sløgedal Paulsen (10).
The friends Stine Sofie Sørstrønen (8) and Lena Sløgedal Paulsen (10) were raped and killed in Baneheia almost 24 years ago. Jan Helge Andersen admitted that she killed the younger man, but she denies that she killed the older man.
Now he is on trial because prosecutors believe they can prove he also killed the older girl.
It is the most important new evidence for the public prosecutor in court new DNA results on the older girl’s body. Several of the discoveries were made in close quarters. That is what separates this case from the time Andersen was convicted of killing Sørstrønen.
The Norwegian Defense Forces employ a Tengs expert
Both the prosecution and the defense agree that the DNA evidence does not give reason to assume that two people committed the crime, as Andersen says.
He both believed and believed that it was his best friend Viggo Kristiansen who killed Paulsen. Kristiansen was acquitted after serving more than 20 years for this murder.
The prosecution and the defense also agree that there is no evidence that there was only one person who committed the crime, as the prosecution claims. No DNA results were also made linking Viggo Kristiansen to the murders.
In any case, the new DNA evidence will be important to the case. That is why Andersen’s defenders have brought in the British expert Johathan Whitaker. He has over 30 years of experience as a forensic pathologist and was the lead expert in the trial after the murder of Birgitte Tengs.
