(CNN) Brian Wilson, a former co-founder of the Beach Boys, a rock band that took the world by storm with their distinctive melodies from the US West Coast, has been placed under the supervision of an adult after a district court decision in Los Angeles. By the 12th, I knew what had happened.
According to court documents, the district judge said there was clear and convincing evidence that the system was needed. He said, “Because of depression, he cannot manage his daily life alone,” and that his diagnosis does not allow treatment.
He also ordered the guardian to consult with Wilson’s children regarding health care decisions.
Wilson himself has agreed with the curator.
According to Wilson’s family, the application for conservatorship was prompted by the death of his wife, Melinda, in January of this year. At the time, he wrote on his website, “She was more than a wife.
After Melinda’s death, her family announced in a statement in February that they had decided to appoint two longtime family representatives as co-guardians.
As the Beach Boys were in the spotlight, Wilson’s private life became increasingly stressful, and she has had difficult times, including depression and drug addiction. In 1964, he retired from touring with the band due to a nervous breakdown, but continued to write lyrics for the band.
Wilson and the Beach Boys were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988. In 2001, he also received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Grammy Awards. Wilson has also won two Grammy Awards in the individual artist category.
