The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility of Ecuador, Gabriela Sommerfeld, will accompany President Daniel Noboa on his eleven-day tour of Italy, France and Spain that begins this Friday until May 21.
Through a new decree published this Thursday, Noboa included Sommerfeld in the delegation that will accompany him on this new trip to Europe.
The chancellor will be the only member of her ministerial cabinet present in the delegation, made up of Presidency officials in charge of security, protocol and other functions.
This will be Noboa’s second official trip to Europe as president of Ecuador since he took office on November 23, 2023.
The president will make this tour when he is close to completing six months in office, marked by the “internal armed conflict” declared against organized crime and the recent crisis with Mexico due to the assault on its embassy to arrest Jorge Glas, Rafael’s former vice president. Correa (2007-2017).
The 36-year-old ruler also went to Spain at the end of January to participate in Fitur, the international tourism fair in Madrid, where Ecuador served as the guest of honor, from where he later traveled to the United States.
Before taking office and after having won the extraordinary presidential elections of 2023, Noboa also made an international tour where he visited Italy, Spain and the United States, where he held previous meetings with international institutions and businessmen. EFE
