A special night is behind us. In many places in Poland it was possible to observe the spectacular northern lights. We received a lot of photos taken by our listeners on the RMF FM Hotline.

There have been strong flares on the Sun for several days, some of them reaching the highest class X. There was a very strong storm of magnetic category G4. It was she who caused the aurora borealis to appear in the Polish sky.
The following recording of the aurora borealis, taken in Nowogrod in Podlasie, was sent to the RMF FM Hotline by Mr. Karol.

The possibility of observing the aurora borealis in a given region of our country depended not only on space weather, but also on local meteorological conditions.
