Defender Peter Pekarík says goodbye to Hertha Berlin fans.

The 37-year-old defender of the club from the capital played six minutes against Kaiserslautern in a 3-1 victory in the 2nd German Budensliga on Saturday.

For Pekarík, it was only his fourth start of the season (he was in the starting lineup just once) and 230 in total in the Hertha A team jersey.

It looks like it was the latter and the Slovakian and the club’s regular paths from the capital will part ways.

He played the 2011/12 season on loan at Kayserispor in Turkey, then moved to Hertha on a free transfer.

It is not known what the next steps of the native Žilina are. He should attend the 2024 European Championships with the national team.
