Petróleos Mexicanos closed the source of corruption

Mexico City. The general director of Pemex, Octavio Romero Oropeza, denounced that when he began his administration at the head of the State productive company we find a series of leonine contracts designed to make you pay penalties without getting anything in return.

As part of this series of anomalies, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador pointed out in the morning, loans, payments of lifelong pensions, renegotiations and complaints against Pemex were detected. Once these issues were located, he said, some of the payments have been stopped and corresponding lawsuits have been filed.

We have eliminated white-collar coyotesRomero pointed out and added that the source of corruption was closed.

One of these cases is that of the lifetime pension of more than 31 million pesos that was delivered for more than 19 years – last February it was suspended – to the current president of the organization Mexicans Against Corruption and Impunity (MCCI), María Amparo Casar, for the death of her husband, Carlos Fernando Márquez Padilla García, who was hired for a managerial position on June 1, 2004 – during the six-year term of Vicente Fox – and died on October 7 of that year, after falling from a window from the 12th floor of the Pemex headquarters building.

Given the irregularities detected, the company took various criminal actions to have the millionaire sum returned, which according to Romero Oropeza corresponds to improper payments based on Pemex’s internal regulations, since Casar’s husband – he revealed – did not suffer an accident, but rather committed suicide.

It should be noted that all this was before there was an expert opinion. The Pemex directors treated him as an accident, omitting to wait for the expert opinion of the Public Ministry, which finally ruled that it had been a suicide.

He said that in 2004, Casar, accompanied by the writer Héctor Aguilar Camín, went to see the then attorney of the Federal District, Bernardo Bátiz, to ask him to modify the ruling, that it did not appear suicide, but rather an accident, so that the payment of both the insurance as well as retirement. However, the request was rejected.

Hours later, in a radio interview, the president of MCCI denied having met with Bátiz then, and assured that she does not even know him.

Another of the issues presented by Romero Oropeza was the fraud in the purchase of the Agronitrogenados plant, in 2013. He indicated that of the 216 million dollars that Alonso Ancira, former president of Altos Hornos de México, agreed to pay, 104 have been recovered. One more were contracts with the Spanish firm Repsol, which were drawn up in the offices of that company and later They were handed over to Pemex to make correctionsand in these They were given the opportunity to do whatever they wanted..
