OMV Petrom and building materials producer Saint-Gobain Romania announce the signing of a five-year agreement, whereby OMV Petrom will supply electricity from renewable sources for Saint-Gobain’s facilities throughout the country.

Based on this agreement, OMV Petrom will deliver around 800 GWh of green energy to 14 Saint-Gobain plants in Romania over the next five years.
Deliveries will begin in January 2026 and will be powered by wind and photovoltaic sources.
With this investment, Saint-Gobain Romania will cover 100% of the energy needs of all its workplaces: Saint-Gobain Glass (Călărași), Saint-Gobain Isover (Ploiesti), Saint-Gobain Rigips (Turda and Cheia) , Saint-Gobain Weber (Turda, Brănești, Suceava), Duraziv (Popești Leordeni), Saint-Gobain Prime Glass Working (Vălenii de Munte) and Chryso Romania (Ariceștii Rahtivani).

Saint-Gobain designs, manufactures and distributes products and services for the industrial and construction markets.
Worldwide, it is present in 76 countries and has 160,000 employees. Last year it had sales of 47.9 billion euros.

In Romania, Saint-Gobain has around 2,000 employees in 14 business sites located in Brăneşti, Călărași, Ploiesti, Satu-Mare, Turda, Suceava, Vălenii de Munte, Popești Leordeni and Ariceștii Rahtivani.
OMV Petrom is the largest integrated energy producer in Southeast Europe, with an annual group crude oil and gas production of approximately 41 million boe (barrel of oil equivalent) in 2023.
The group has a refining capacity of 4.5 million tonnes per annum and operates a high efficiency natural gas power plant of 860 MW.
On the retail oil products distribution market, the group is present in Romania and neighboring countries through approximately 780 gas stations, under two brands – OMV and Petrom.
