Ukraine suggests that not all its partners in the West want it to win the war against Russia

MADRID, 23 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The head of Ukraine’s Security and Defense Service, Alexei Danilov, has cast doubt on whether there is a unanimous position among kyiv’s partners when it comes to providing the necessary weapons they need for their war with Russia.

“If they wanted, they would provide us with modern weapons at the right time,” Danilov said in statements to ‘The Times’ published this Friday, warning that the delay in the delivery of weapons and the partisan disputes in the United States over the extension of aid are putting them in a difficult situation.

«Russia has at least five times more shells than Ukraine along its entire front line. The shortage of weapons and ammunition increasingly threatens the Defense Forces,” Danilov lamented.

“There are three things that Ukraine needs: weapons, weapons and more weapons,” remarked Danilov, who has accused the West of “turning a blind eye” and not wanting to respond properly to kyiv’s demands. “In the end, they (the Russians) don’t kill you,” he recriminated.

«In this war I lost my nephew. My godson had part of his leg torn off. There is a lot of pain, but not just me. “Many people lost their children, parents, wives or husbands,” he lamented.

Danilov’s criticism came shortly before the German Parliament this Thursday blocked the shipment of Taurus missiles to Ukraine over fears that they would be used to bomb Russian territory and increase tensions.

In recent days, the Ukrainian authorities have recognized that the lack of weapons and ammunition has caused the withdrawal from Avdiivka, one of the main theaters of this war along with the other disputed Kupiansk front.
