Real Madrid won their place in the Champions League final after the suspense against Bayern Munich (2-1, aggregate score: 4-3) on Wednesday evening. In the final, the Madrilenians will meet Borussia Dortmund, defeater of Paris Saint-Germain.
Real Madrid created a huge chance in the first quarter of an hour. After an incursion into the rectangle, Vinicius Junior sent a tight shot which passed under Manuel Neuer but hit the upright (13th). The Madrilenians once again came close to opening the scoring with a shot from Rodrygo but too crossed (56th).
Up at the half-hour mark, Alphonso Davies proved to be, for a time, the savior of the Bavarians with an unstoppable shot between three players for Andriy Lunin (68th, 0-1). The Canadian almost threw a chill with an own goal just after but it was canceled for a prior foul on Joshua Kimmich (73rd).
In the final minutes, Neuer made a mistake by catching a shot from Vinicius Junior very poorly. Joselu took the opportunity to jump on the ball and equalize (88th, 1-1). In a few seconds, Real Madrid turned the match around with a double from the Spanish striker, synonymous with qualification (90th + 2, 2-1).
In order to win the 15th Champions League in its history, Real Madrid will have to beat Borussia Dortmund in the final at Wembley on June 1. Tuesday evening, the Germans achieved the feat of eliminating Paris Saint-Germain, the favorite of this double confrontation (1-0, 0-1, cumulative score: 2-0).
Borussia dreams of lifting the Big Ears Cup once again after a single coronation in 1997 and a final in 2013, lost to Bayern Munich.
