Bence Rétvári said, based on the Századvég survey last November, that almost half of the respondents believe that the most important thing is to simplify appointment scheduling in health care.
He pointed out that the outpatient management system (JIR), created according to the needs and perspectives of patients and beneficial to doctors and nurses, will open the possibility to organize and change appointments in the Health Window application and on phone 1812. number from 1 July.
He noted that the appearance of the JIR is a “big change” in the health care system, and that it is already available in 83 institutions in more than 90 locations. He said that its general introduction on July 1 can be considered a “major turning point” in the Hungarian outpatient care center.
Bence Rétvári explained: the system helps patients receive care, and makes health care systems more transparent. With his help, everyone, especially the head of a patient’s surgery or hospital, can see much more precisely what is happening in the institution he leads.
In his presentation, the Secretary of State also spoke that access to doctors should be made easier because, in addition to making it simpler to book appointments, it is also important that there is less people’s waiting time. The secretary of state said that around 200,000 surgeries are performed in Hungarian hospitals, and patients visit nearly 59 million outpatient clinics. Bence Rétvári said that it is true for most people that local care is important to them, but most of them are willing to travel short or long distances for care. Regarding private care, he emphasized that people are satisfied with the doctors and nurses who work in public institutions, and they choose it not because the quality is better, but because they get there faster.
He confirmed that there are enough doctors in Hungary, but they need to be helped in the organization so that patients who do not know medical care can access the doctors. The goal of the system is for the level of organization to keep up with the level of treatment in state care, so that patients can access the necessary care as easily and quickly as possible.
Bence Rétvári said that with the ability to arrange an appointment, doctors and nurses can be freed from the administrative burden, and the choice is in the hands of the patients, since they will be able to choose the time that suits them from the time specified. window He emphasized that the overall value of the new system and the ability to schedule an appointment is that the patient can get to the doctor faster and can start treatment faster.
