Pre-election candidate Kyriakos Mitsotakis: 4 weeks of tours and dilemmas – 2024-05-09 21:12:58

Kyriakos Mitsotakis is called upon to carry out a 4-week election campaign with tours everywhere, emphasis on everyday issues enriched with the dilemmas of the ballot box, with the aim that the June 9 ballot box will confirm the political supremacy of the ND and himself over his opponents.

The electoral staff of the ND has planned this foray of the Prime Minister in the logic of the national elections. In the final stretch to the polls the dilemmas will be posed in a harsh manner, the tones of criticism towards the opposition parties will rise. However, what concerns the Maximos Palace are the convincing answers that must be given to everyday issues. The Prime Minister will focus there. During these 4 weeks, issues concerning the critical decisions at the European level for foreign policy and defense, security and agricultural policy will also be highlighted.

Small and targeted tours

Mr. Mitsotakis will take on the ND election campaign with visits throughout the country. Emphasis will be placed on Northern Greece. The tours that have been planned are described by Mr Mitsotakis’ staff as “small and targeted”. The aim is to highlight the government work that has been done at the local level with small and large projects either being completed or in the starting phase. On Thursday, Mr. Mitsotakis will make his first post-Easter tour within Attica, while on Friday he will go to Chios.

However, the ministers will also be on tour. The tours of the 12 ministers who have taken charge of the respective regions of the country, along with ranks of parliamentarians and party officials, begin immediately. The ministers will certainly cover the capitals of the prefectures, while in each prefecture there will be at least two other levels of the ND with deputy ministers, general secretaries and deputies of neighboring prefectures. The logic, as communicated by competent sources, is to cover all the main cities of the prefectures of the country, as well as all the islands.
