You can still dream of the summer heat when Maundy Thursday is celebrated in quite cool conditions. As Thursday progresses, the cloudiness will increase and Lapland will receive at least one more snowfall front.
– The weather is cool this week. A snowstorm will spread to Lapland during Thursday and Friday, Foreca meteorologist Joanna Rinne forecast in a weather blog.
On Thursday, the daytime temperature will be 8–11 degrees in the south, 5–9 degrees in the central part of the country, and 1–7 degrees in the north.
Wide area of rain
On Thursday evening and during the night before Friday, a large area of rain will spread to Finland from the west, and snowfall will be seen at least in the northern part of the country.
– It rains from the entire length of Finland. The rains come as water in the southern and central parts of the country, in the north widely as sleet or snow, although water rain is also possible in some places. A total of 5–10 centimeters of snow can be expected in Lapland the night before Friday and during Friday, especially in Western Lapland, Rinne states.
During Friday, the rains will recede and a large part of the country will be able to enjoy the dusty weather – in the southern and southern part of the country, even the sun!
In the south, the temperature can rise to 13 degrees at best, in the central part of the country to 12 degrees. In Lapland it is 1–7 degrees. On Friday, however, the wind will be gusty and, according to Rinne, slight wind damage is possible.
Although the weather forecasts seem cool, a summery change may occur in the weather already next week. According to the current forecast, in a warmer scenario next week it may exceed 20 degrees in a wide area, at least in the south, Joanna Rinne says.
