EA Focuses on Future of Battlefield Series with Plans for Live Service Games and Single-Player Experiences – What Fans Can Expect

While development has continued on Battlefield 2042, EA has since shifted its main focus to the future of the shooter series. That future includes “live service” games and single-player experiences, delivered by what EA’s boss describes as “the biggest Battlefield team in the history of the series”.

It was related to the presentation of the the company’s latest quarterly report that Andrew Wilson indicated the plans for the Battlefield series. It could be said that the team learned a lot from Battlefield 2042, which received harsh criticism from fans.

– Players have made it clear that they want an even deeper experience. Our teams have listened to the players, learned valuable lessons and are now working towards the future.

As previously mentioned by EA, DICE, Benchmark, Ripple Effect and – recently – Motive is all set to bring together different parts of the larger Battle universe. Wilson said on Wednesday that he has visited the various studios, and that he is very happy with what he got to see and play.

It remains to be seen when the public will see what the teams have been working on behind closed doors. EA has not said anything about launch plans, except that Battlefield is not part of the plans for this financial year. In other words, the next installment in the shooter series will not be available until April 1, 2025 at the earliest.
