The possibility of conditional release of Ilias Kasidiaris is mentioned in a statement by the head of the Justice Department of SYRIZA-PS, Alexandros Avlonitis.
Specifically, he states: “The case of accepting Ilias Kasidiaris’ application for conditional release from prison will be a scandal against the Republic. He may meet the formal requirements, but the most basic requirement is not met: the improvement of his conduct. And specifically of his political behavior.
Recently, the Areios Pagos has judged with its decision that Mr. Kasidiaris himself actually led the Spartans party. In other words, he cheated the electorate. And he continues to deceive the electorate. An objective observer would conclude that the acceptance of the application would be done in view of European elections, to the benefit of the governing party. In this I am absolute”.
