The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine noted this Saturday that Russia’s inclusion of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on the list of people wanted and captured reported by the Russian media is an example of “despair” from Moscow.
According to a Foreign Affairs statement, “Russian information about the alleged inclusion of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on the list of people wanted by the Russian Interior Ministry demonstrates the desperation “of the Russian state and propaganda machinery, which does not know what else to invent to attract attention”.
“We would like to remind everyone that, unlike the useless Russian announcements, the International Criminal Court’s arrest warrant against the Russian dictator, Vladimir Putin, for war crimes is real and enforceable in 123 countries,” he adds.
The official Russian agency TASS had reported that, according to the Russian Ministry of the Interior, Zelensky is wanted in connection with a crime covered by the Russian Criminal Code, without offering further details.
Also this Saturday, Russia declared that Petro Poroshenko, president of Ukraine between 2014 and 2019, was wanted and captured.
Last December, the Russian Interior Ministry declared the head of Ukrainian military intelligence (GUR), Kirilo Budánov, wanted. EFE
