Authorities of the State of Mexico confirmed that at noon this Sunday a fire was recorded in the forested area of Valle de Bravo.
The fire occurred in the area known as Velo de Novia and Cualtenco, and according to the authorities, it was attended to by the Probosque brigades, the National Forestry Commission (Conafor), community brigades, Villa de Colorines Firefighters; as well as elements of the Mexican Army and the State Security Secretariat.
It was reported that after the work, it was possible to suffocate it at first; However, weather conditions and winds intensified the flames again.
Because this is a tourist area, a cut was made at the entrance to Velo de Novia, to restrict access and keep tourists and walkers safe.
However, residents of Valle de Bravo denounced that neither the local nor the state government arrived in time to control the fire and that it was civil society that began the attention.
At 9:00 p.m., the Secretary of Security of the State of Mexico reported that the fire was completely extinguished; However, residents of Valle de Bravo denied that the fire was under control.
They also reported that the situation is getting out of control, since there are three other fires in that Magical Town: one that started at 11:16 a.m. in Cerro Cualtenco, another registered at 11:56 a.m. in Santo Tomás and another at 12: 00 in San Nicolás, plus that of Velo de Novia, which according to the inhabitants was recorded at 11:33 hours.
The inhabitants of Valle de Bravo also called to help in kind with bottled water, serums, crackers, tuna in packs, eye drops, candy and non-perishable food. These groceries can be delivered at KTM Avándaro and Barrio 28 in Acatlán.
