Dr. Mufid Shehab, a professor of international law at Cairo University, revealed that Palestine is a land and Israel is a state that governs the occupied territory. this, managing its affairs, providing services to its people, and ensuring stability there.

He said, in a telephone conversation with the journalist Ahmed Musa, on the program “On My Responsibility,” which was broadcast on the Sada El Balad channel, on Tuesday night, that the United Nations had issued resolutions before saying that Palestine is under the administration of Israel but not under. his sovereignty.

He explained that Israel’s activity in the Gaza Strip is illegal, as the Palestinian territory has the right to be protected according to international law and not to be attacked.
Shehab pointed out that what the occupying state has been doing since October 7 in Gaza has been criticized by the Egyptian state.

He confirmed that what Israel is currently doing in Gaza is a threat to the security of the region, and that Egypt is a state close to Palestine and connected to it whether we like it or not. which is to establish direct rule between Egypt and Israel at the crossroads of Karam or Salem.

He continued that what happens in Palestine affects Egypt in one word, and what affects Egypt affects the region, and what Israel needs to do is ensure peace in the region, first and foremost peace with Egypt.

He explained that Egypt has the right to criticize what Israel is doing because it goes against the 1979 peace agreement, and it is not an attack against Egypt but a threat, and according to the law international law, any country is prohibited from using or threatening force, which Israel did.

A professor of international law at Cairo University continued that Israel violated the terms of the cooperation agreements specified in the peace agreement with Egypt.

He confirmed that the peace agreement will be frozen or suspended if there is a direct attack on Egypt by the occupying state of Israel, which has not happened, confirming that the peace agreement exists, but what is happening is leading to political to tension in relations between Cairo. and Tel Aviv.

He continued that what the Israeli occupation state did in Rafah Palestine and the Philadelphia axis is an indirect threat to Egypt, which is a violation of the peace agreement, emphasizing that there is a violation on the part of Israel.
Shehab continued that if Israel occupied Salah al-Din’s axis in Rafah Palestine, this would give Egypt the right to demand that it stop this behavior immediately and return to what it was before the recent events. .

He said that Egypt must put pressure on Israel in cooperation with the international community to end the wrong practices in the Palestinian axis of Philadelphia, explaining that Tel Aviv’s attack on Palestinian Rafah is a violation on the peace agreement with Egypt.

He concluded that any Israeli action that affects Egypt’s national security is illegal and can be stopped by any means possible, and pushing the Palestinians to ‘an attack to move to Egypt is equivalent to a direct attack on the sovereignty of Egypt, the right not to allow, in any case, anyone to enter it from Rafah, and regarding the intervention of Israel to be considered as attack on Egypt.
