After two months of suspension of operations at the Hasharon Ring, Petah Tikva and Rosh Ha’Ein stations, which drew a lot of criticism due to the timing and the long period of time, Israel Railways will resume its operations in the area tomorrow, Monday, May 6, 24. This is after the completion of large-scale works to connect the eastern rail with the national rail network in the Rosh Ha’Ain area. Other essential works were carried out all over the Sharon Ring Railway such as the extension of platforms, the Harling Bridge in Bnei Brak, ongoing maintenance works, raising rails and more.
The “Eastern Rail” national project will be an additional railway axis between the northern region, the center and the south, and will allow for a significant improvement of the railway service all over the country, alongside a significant increase in freight transportation, which will reduce road congestion, air pollution, and increase the safety of all road users. As part of the project, and as part of its final stages, Israel Railways has carried out work in the last two months in the Rosh Ha’Ein area to connect the future eastern rail network with the national rail network on the existing Sharon Ring Railway, which include disassembling the electrification systems and reassembling them on the new rail route, disassembling and assembling communication and signaling systems, and assuming Dividers (a rail component whose function is to split an existing rail into several rails), this is as part of the connection to the eastern rail.
The railway stated that in order to make the most of the working days and prevent future closures in the Sharon Ring, Israel Railways carried out works to raise the height of the tracks at all the Sharon stations with the aim of improving safety and service by reducing the space to get on the train from the platform, and progressed with work to extend the platforms at the Petah Tikva Kiryat Aryeh, Petah Tikva Segolah stations , Bnei Brak and Rosh Ha’Ein, which are intended for the benefit of upgrading the stations and improving passenger service. In addition, essential works were carried out in the Bnei Brak area for the construction of the Harling Bridge for the establishment of a new residential neighborhood.
