Sywert van Lienden wins legal battle to retrieve 100,000 euros: NOS News

NOS news

Sywert van Lienden will get 100,000 euros back to pay for a lawyer. The money was seized by the Auxiliary Alliance Foundation (SHA), but the judge raised this.

The Public Prosecution Service had previously seized Van Lienden’s assets in the criminal investigation into the face mask case. Last September, the Public Prosecution Service issued 100,000 “for civil legal aid”.

So Van Lienden was allowed to use that money for a lawyer in the civil lawsuit that the State and the SHA had filed against him. But those 100,000 euros were seized at the SHA.

Van Lienden’s emphasis is more important

The judge now decides that Van Lienden’s interest in being represented by a lawyer is higher than SHA’s interest in ‘securing’ that ton. SHA wants money back from Van Lienden and his two associates in the civil case over the face mask affair. Because he made a profit from selling face masks, while he had said that he would do so without profit.

It was recently the first day of hearing in that case for the millions that were earned. Van Lienden did not have his own lawyer there, but his partners Bernd Damme and Camille van Gestel did. At the end of the session, there was a willingness to sit down together, but no solid agreement was made.

This trial will continue soon. Van Lienden earned about 9 million net from the face mask deal, his two partners 5 million each. Both the State and the SHA want that money back.
