“Dzūki žinios” and “Dainava’s word” from now on in Merkinė as well

Today we celebrate the Day of Reclaiming the Press, Speech and Book. Congratulations to all who write, create newspapers and magazines, publish and translate books. This day is special for the editors. For us, the editorial teams of “Dzūkū žinios” and “Dainavas žods”, this day is like a starting point. On January 1st, we meet the beginning of the calendar year, and on May 7th, we can evaluate the performance results. We have something to celebrate. Of course, everything was achieved thanks to our lovely readers and partners.

UAB “Dzūkų žinios” has been working purposefully in the field of publishing and media for several decades. As representatives of the regions, we maintain a close relationship with the communities. It is both a great honor and a responsibility. We need to be proactive, as objective as possible and cover everything that matters to local residents. We see that this is important for institutions as well. One of our strategic partners, the Alytus District Municipality, presented the editorial office with the “DONE OF THE YEAR” award on the occasion of Press Recovery, Speech and Book Day, which reflects our determination to undertake and finish the work we have started.

We constantly review the activities of both newspapers and make meaningful changes gradually, from different angles. We have recently updated the website versions of both publications. Print publications remain relevant and important. We value the loyalty of our newspaper readers. Traditional printed publications are important to us – we recently successfully expanded the sales points of weekly newspapers. From May, you can conveniently purchase both publications in Merkina, which has become the mecca of Dzūkija, in shopping centers “Aibė” and shopping center IKI.

It is no accident that Merkinė has become a new point where you can find and buy newspapers. Our editorial offices share a close relationship with Merkina. We cooperate with the “Merkinės Fabrik” located there to promote local cultural entrepreneurship (https://www.facebook.com/merkinesfabrikas). This friendship bears valuable fruits: we help to communicate about projects, we create original content about archaeological excavations in Merkinė.
