Frances Lefebure opens up about being alone

In ‘Through the Trees’ every week a famous guest is dropped all alone at the edge of a forest without knowing what awaits him/her. This time it is the turn of the then heavily pregnant Frances Lefebure, who has had a hard time being alone since childhood.

Six famous Flemish people are dropped at the edge of a forest in ‘Through the Trees’ and have to look for a house in the middle of nature. They stay there for three nights and days, all alone in an unknown no man’s land, far away from civilization and without a smartphone.

Recognizable

Unlike, for example, Dieter Coppens, who felt completely at ease as soon as he entered the forest hut, the idea immediately aroused a lot of resistance from Frances. Ever since she was a child, she has had a hard time being alone. ‘If I am alone at home for more than a day, I even find it difficult to make food for myself. Whereas if there’s just one other person there, everything will be fine down to the last detail,” she says as the going gets tough.

‘I don’t have to be alone to have me-time. I know from the few times I am home alone, it is striking how quickly I stop taking care of myself. Then I am much less inclined to make healthy food or get dressed,” she admits. In the comments we read that it is a recognizable feeling for many.

You can see ‘Through the trees’ with Frances Lefebure tonight at 8:40 PM on VRT 1 and VRT MAX.
