Knife Attack in Chinese Hospital: 2 Dead, 21 Wounded in Zhaotong, Yunnan

Two people were killed and 21 wounded in a knife attack at a hospital in southwest China, Reuters news agency reported, citing local media. The attack took place at a hospital in the city of Zhaotong in Yunnan province.

The suspect is a local resident, reports a local media in Yunnan, which Reuters says.

A photo published by the government-controlled news site The Paper shows a man in a hospital hallway pointing a knife at another person, who himself is wielding a long stick. The Paper shares also pictures of police officers arriving at the hospital.

Local media reports that a suspect has been arrested, but this has not yet been officially confirmed. The reason for the attack is still unknown.

A knife attacks
