An operation to protect the environment by the military personnel of the Carabinieri Forestry Unit of Capaccio-Paestum and the technical staff of the Provincial Environmental Security Guards Unit at the Kronos Academy Salernomade it possible to ascertain that an entrepreneur within a land owned by him, in order to raise the level of a large area of ​​land located behind an industrial warehouse he owned, had started a excavation activities for the removal of topsoil and subsequent burial with waste attributable to different product categories and in particular aggregates of construction origin, unsorted waste, plastic, herbaceous waste, excavated earth, etc., effectively resulting in a raising of the floor by approximately 80 centimetres.

At the time of the intervention, the soldiers and the AK Guards, after the initial technical checks and photographic surveys, carried out a careful inspection of the area which allowed them to ascertain the presence of an excavation of approximately 100/120 square meters partly filled with non-hazardous special waste but also with dangerous waste, in fact the military found residues of old downpipes presumably made of asbestos cement among the waste.

At the end of the activity the military, in light of the ascertained crimes, proceeded to seize a surface and part of the areas intended for parking for a total of 2000 square meters and to the free denunciation of the entrepreneur because as a business owner he abandoned special, non-hazardous waste belonging to different product categories on bare ground and for violations of the consolidated building law having raised part of the level of the square in the absence of suitable qualifications.
