His opinion was on the electoral process that appeared on Wednesday afternoon at FODSA Epirus, as well as the announcement of an appeal by the main opposition against the decision of the municipal council by which the representatives of the municipality of Ioannita were elected to the Board of the Agency leaders, made by the mayor of Ioannina, Thomas Begas, answering the questions of journalists.
In particular and in relation to the results of the elections to FODSA, Mr Begas noted:
“A democratic process took place with the village representatives making their choices. The most important thing now is to continue the work done in the previous period in which I was vice-president of the Group, when I believe that strong foundations were laid put down I hope that the next day will be creative because our country deserves a modern integrated waste management for the quality of life of the citizens as well as the protection of the environment. I wish success to the new administration and I express that as a member of the Board of Directors I will be by her side with my knowledge and willingness to cooperate to achieve the best results for Epirus”.
Participation of Kalogiannis and Chrysostomou
Regarding the participation of Mrs. Kalogiannis and Mr. Chrysostomou as candidates for the position of vice president, Mr. Begas emphasized that the city council legally elected its representatives on the Board of Directors of the Group and from then on could anyone to choose whether he would try to be elected to a position of duty, while he said that it was politically incorrect the choice of the main opposition to appeal against the decision of the city council.
“I believe that the choice of the main opposition on a political level is wrong. It was our own political choice, not only in relation to FODSA, but in general, to have expanded representation on various Boards of Directors and from opposition groups. The community’s right to choose who represents itself does not violate the opposition’s right, as the legislator has predicted how to protect it, because at least it would have a voter as a member of the new group. the organization’s board of directors. We were chosen as a town authority for one of our three representatives to be Mrs. Kalogiannis because in my opinion she has both the knowledge and the ability to represent the town in this particular case. We have consciously chosen to work with all the opposition to govern the city, not with the concept of one kingdom, but with dialogue and open ears.
As for Mr. Chrysostomou, he is an important colleague of mine and already the work he has done on his subject is evident. It is important for the city that from now on he devotes all his energy to the critical area he has undertaken as deputy mayor, waste management, and believe me that together we will achieve results great in the future as it is very informative. and a very capable partner.”
About pre-election letters
Finally, the mayor, answering a question about the great objections against the payment of pre-election letters to the choice of Mrs. Kalogiannis, emphasized:
“I answer with one question: If we take into account that the percentage of the main body against the first round was much less than what he got in the second one, should we look for promissory notes pay it back on his behalf?”
