One of the leading figures in the Greek rock scene, O Antonis Turkogiorgis, died at the age of 73. The singer, bassist and founding member of ‘Socrates Drunk the Conium’ had been dealing with serious health issues since 2010. He was a dynamic performer, singer, songwriter, lyricist and all around uncompromising artist.
THE Makis Youlisthe last drummer of Socrates said in a statement about the loss of his friend: “Finally today Easter Sunday 2024 the time has come for the big goodbye that I have been so afraid of all these years that at some point I will find myself in the difficult position of I’ll tell you… Finally, your little soul will rest from the Calvary you suffered since April 2010… Goodbye my dear friend, goodbye my dear partner, goodbye my only Tony”..
He sends his own goodbye through social media and o Kostas Bigalis, speaking of a great guitarist, composer and singer. “Today, May 5, 2024, the great guitarist, composer and singer Antonis Turkogiorgis ‘left’ to meet his brotherly friend Yiannis Spathas, the other half of Socrates Drunk the Conium, the leading Greek rock band of all time. Tony Power!!! Forever!!!” underlined.
