The Second Criminal Prosecutor’s Office of Cañete initiated preliminary proceedings against three allegedly drunk police officers who threatened customers of a bar in Cerro Azul, Cañete with a weapon.
The owner of the bar recorded how the off-duty officers engaged in a brawl in the middle of the street with the bar attendants. At one point, one of them takes his partner’s gun, rakes it, and points it at the civilians they were fighting with.
The officer even fired a shot into the air until he was stopped by one of his colleagues. After dropping the weapon, the police officer tripped over a cement wall and fell to the ground.

When heading to the police station, one of the officers tried to justify his partner’s reaction by pointing out that they tried to steal his service weapon, a fact that was denied by the witnesses and the images captured by them and the security cameras.
The officers were identified as Jhonny Burgos Saavedra, Jordan Tarrillo Segura and Cristian Huayanay Chamorro, to whom the alleged crime of using weapons while intoxicated is attributed.
