Completing his stage as the King of Professional Boxing 2023 of the Vallenata Legend Festival, Samario Javier Matta, who until the end, and despite musical commitments, was present at the various stages where to hold the competitions of the 57th version of this festival that took place in the capital of Cesar, as a tribute to Ivan Villazón.
Receiving the welcome and support of the hundreds of spectators present at the Plaza Alfonso López, the Pedro Castro Monsalvo Fair Coliseum and the Los Algarrobillos park, the king of the city, as he was called from the moment he was crowned in last year, Matta said he was happy because people were very motivated and happy to support their partners in the different categories.
Likewise, he encourages young aspirants to be disciplined and persistent in this challenging path of vallenato music. Hard work and firm goal setting are the keys to achieving the long awaited crown.
“I enjoyed receiving the kind words from my followers until the last minute. It was a very rich experience and for this reason, from now on I confirm my participation in the Festival of the Legend of the Kings of Vallenata,” said ‘El Pollo’ Matta a few hours after ending his reign as monarch of the Festival.
The edition of the King of Kings has been celebrated every five years at the Vallenata Legend Festival since 2017, although it was created in 1987, the rule was ten years. The best part of the box is given, by the current King of Kings, Almes Granado, who won the title in 2022, in the version of the festival held in tribute to Jorge Oñate .
ADVENTURE TO THE END
The 34-year-old Samario, the Professional King of the 2023 Vallenata Legend Festival, immersed himself in the intense atmosphere of this year’s competition. He remembered that his title was an odyssey of eleven attempts, a path that he knew was carved with effort and passion until he reached the glory he dreamed of so much.
“I can’t forget that they were years of hard preparation, dedicated to perfecting the four airs of the vallenato genre, which came to fruition in their victory the year before,” he said , laughing with joy.
This year the finalists in the Professional Boxing category gathered the skills to emerge as the best. “The advice I gave them is that there should be self-control over emotions because everything is mental. They showed a high level and I liked the combination of youth and experience,” he said.
In this 57th edition of the Vallenato Festival, Javier Matta and his running partner, Jorge Antonio Oñate, had the honor of being part of the opening ceremony of the Festival in the emblematic Parque de La Leyenda. They sang the unforgettable songs of ‘El Jilguero de América’, Jorge Oñate.
