Cojute achieved an important victory last night that helped it stay in fifth place with 22 points in the 2024 Apertura Tournament, after beating Lobos 67-55 at the Gimnasio Alcaldía de Cojutepeque.
The visiting quintet was very competitive from the start of the game, as they dominated the locals and managed to score 14 points, and only received 10 in response.
However, for the second period Cojute asserted his home team and took advantage of the little defense that Lobos did at that time. The choriceros added 16 and reinforced the defense, as they only allowed seven points for a total of 26-21.
For the third period there was more excitement, as both quintets were very competitive on the gym floor. But the local team knew how to take advantage of more opportunities and surpassed Lobos by five points and closed 22-17 for a general score of 48-38.
The teams were more efficient during the fourth period, as Cojute added 19 and Lobos scored 18 points, but on the overall scoreboard the victory went to the home team with a score of 67-56.
Pablo Figueroa led Cojute by scoring 21 points, Troidell Carter scored 8 and Frankyn Batista 6. Robert Story responded with 21 points, Sean Scott with 14 and Erick Rojas 11 for Lobos.
