More than 100 thousand pensioners in the O’Higgins region benefited automatically, by receiving the 2024 Winter Bonus, who as of last Thursday join the more than 1 million 750 thousand people who receive this benefit national level, for an amount of 77,982 pesos to adults over 65 years of age.
At an event held at the headquarters of the Chile Atiende branch, in the Plaza de Los Héroes de Rancagua, the presidential delegate, Fabio López Aguilera, was present; the Regional Secretary of the Ministry (Seremi) of Labor, Jaime Chamorro and the regional director of the IPS, Tatiana Ramírez; who gave details of the start of the payment of this benefit, which in 2023 alone benefited about 42 thousand people.
Presidential delegate Fabio López described this act as “very good news”, which benefits more than 104 thousand elderly pensioners, with the payment of the Winter Bonus.
“I think it is very good news, that in a certain way it will help us get through this winter, which everything indicates that it will be quite cold,” said Fabio López.
He recommended that the beneficiaries of this bonus be careful not to fall into scams and telephone fraud, which may have as victims the elderly who receive this benefit and other payments made by Chile Atiende.
The Seremi of Labor, Jaime Chamorro explained that the people with the right to receive this benefit are older adults who receive a pension equal to or less than 212 thousand pesos and there is compatibility with those who receive the Universal Guaranteed Pension (PGU), being the amount close to 78 thousand pesos, which is a relief and support in this time of winter, to give quality of life to the pensioners of the O’Higgins region.
The regional director of the IPS, Tatiana Ramírez, clarified that the payments received by the beneficiaries “are automatic and people do not have to do any type of procedure or management, therefore, she also recommended that at this time when special benefits are paid, fraud appears. and people who take advantage of the opportunity to scam these people.
Ramírez recommended that older adults, when they go to collect the bonus, be accompanied by family members, count their money inside the payment centers and ignore phone calls, emails, WhatsApp, which encourage them to hand over personal data, and in case of doubts, go to the Chile Atiende offices.
