The Minister of Culture, Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo, was visiting the village of the communities this Tuesday, April 30, 2024, on the guest of the country day. His colleague from Niger, Colonel Major Abdourahamane Amadou, was with him. Objective, discover the cultural heritage of Niger.

Nigerien culture was in the spotlight this Tuesday at the village of the communities. Responding to an invitation from the authorities as an honorary host country, Niger came with a strong delegation. Between exhibitions of decorative items, a tasting of the country’s traditional dishes, and a demonstration of dance steps, it is the culture of Niger in all its diversity that has been enhanced, in the village of the communities. “We were able to appreciate a sample of the rich and diverse cultural heritage of our sister country Niger. Be it in terms of culinary art, we have seen the country’s experience. After that we could appreciate the sounds inspired by the culture of Niger,” said Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo.

As for the Nigerien minister, he said he was satisfied with this day dedicated to his country. For him, it was an opportunity to showcase the richness of Nigerian culture. “We are present as today’s host country especially dedicated to Niger which has had the opportunity to present its culinary art in all its diversity and also the performances of some artists from Niger, to the dance steps designed with Nigerian sounds. We are very happy,” he suggested.

After the authorities visited the stands, and tasted some dishes from the Nigerien experience, the two ministers and the public attended, a presentation of the artistic experience of Nigeriens through the iconic music group Mamar Kassey. This group came from Niger especially for the SNC and other artists energized the audience.

The community village was officially opened on April 28, 2024. For this edition it has 45 communities including 31 from Burkina and 14 foreigners. So beyond Niger, 13 other foreign countries are represented in this city. For the Minister of Culture, Africa is a miniature and Africa is the winner. Unity through culture is the message of the village of the communities.
